Tonight on Biography, the story of misconception

Misconception was formed in January, 2001 out of the want (or in our case, need) to create. Music with modesty, intelligence, honesty and a touch of humor. Music with incredible hooks and lyrics that will expose you to the sounds of despair, hope, failure and success.

GarnerVocalist/rythm guitarist Garner Cowdrey has been playing guitar and writing music for 9 years. Writig most of the lyrics in the band, he approaches them with honesty and unabriged emotion.

While bassist Raye Fager may be a newcomer to the rock scene, she definately knows her way around music. A student of classical violin since the age of 11, she has musical knowledge that far surpasses most commercial rock groups. In addition to being a member of Misconception, she has performed with the MWSC orchestra.Raye Lynn

JakeJake White is the Guitar genus of the group. The ability to play straightforward, meaningful solos off the top of his head is just one of his many talents. Learning to play in the 6th grade Jake is well suited for the job.

Joining in late August 2001, Mark Brouhard complets the line up with his impressive drumming skills. He was definately the missing piece of the puzzle and our sound is now complete.Mark

In June of 2001, a self titled 4 song ep, was released locally. Shortly thereafter, Misconception was featured as "Artist Of The Week" by the Saint Joseph News Press.

As for our sound, It's somewhat expirimental, mixing the influences of Alternative bands such as Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Marcy Playground, R.E.M. and Nirvana as well as local acts such as The Appleseed Cast, The Get Up Kids and Ultimate Fakebook...If you really want to understand the sound, simply listen to the music, it will clearly explain everything we've tried to here...
